This Instructable is a cheap Yoghurt maker, but my first though was for brewing beer! It is a simple construction of a polystyrene box, a thermometer and a high power resistor to provide the heat. It's a pretty nifty design, and could be used to keep anything at a constant temperature above room temperature. It could even be used to keep food warm.
